How Eventure Began: From Coast Guard Service to Coastal Adventure

A New Chapter After 22 Years of Service

In 2015, Jason found himself at a turning point.

After serving 22 years in the United States Coast Guard, he began thinking about what life would look like after retirement. One thing was certain - home was calling. The Florida Panhandle had always been a place close to his heart, filled with family, familiar coastlines, and years of memories. But during those visits over the years, something kept coming up in conversation again and again…Traffic. Parking. And the growing pains of a booming beach community.

Seeing a Problem… and an Opportunity

Jason has always been a problem solver. So naturally, he started thinking: What if there was a better way to get around? Something that could help locals and visitors skip the traffic, avoid the parking headaches, and actually enjoy the journey—not just the destination. And then—the lightbulb moment. 💡

E-bikes.

Before E-Bikes Were “A Thing”

Back in 2015, e-bikes weren’t what they are today. Most people hadn’t heard of them. Others weren’t quite sure what to think. But Jason saw the potential immediately. He knew this could be the solution the Panhandle didn’t even realize it needed yet. The challenge? Finding the right bike - and building something people could trust.

Finding the Right Partner

Jason spent months researching, exploring options, and even trying to create something from the ground up. He looked into partnerships. Considered building his own brand. Tested what was out there. And then he found Pedego Electric Bikes.

It clicked instantly.

Pedego was already established, known for quality, and - most importantly - aligned with the experience Jason wanted to bring to the Panhandle. That partnership gave him the confidence to take the leap into entrepreneurship.

A Decade of Leading the Way on 30A

What followed that initial leap was a decade of growth, learning, and leadership in the e-bike space along 30A. Jason didn’t just introduce e-bikes to the area—he helped define the category.

For nearly 10 years, he served the 30A community as a trusted resource for:

  • E-bike sales

  • Rentals

  • Service and maintenance

During that time, his shop became one of the most recognized and respected in the region—earning a reputation for quality, reliability, and an unmatched customer experience. That dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Jason was named a Top 10 dealer for Pedego Electric Bikes for eight years, and reached #1 dealer status for two of those years—a testament to both his work ethic and the trust he built within the community.

When the Industry Changed Overnight

Then came 2020. Like many industries, the e-bike world experienced a massive shift during COVID. Demand surged almost overnight as people searched for new ways to get outside, stay active, and explore safely. What had once been a niche product suddenly became mainstream. With that surge came rapid growth - and major changes. Pedego Electric Bikes was eventually acquired by private equity, and with that transition, the relationship Jason had relied on for years began to change. Support shifted. Reliability became inconsistent. And the partnership that once felt seamless no longer aligned the way it once had.

The Turning Point

But here’s the thing - Jason had already started laying the groundwork. For a couple of years, he had been quietly building something on the side. Testing ideas. Exploring what it might look like to create something of his own. And when those industry shifts happened… it became clear.

This was the moment.

He had the experience.
He had the knowledge.
He had spent years understanding what customers wanted—and what the market needed.

So he made the call.

It was time to build something independently.
Something flexible.
Something rooted fully in his vision.

The Birth of Eventure Florida

And just like that—Eventure Florida was no longer just an idea.

It became the next chapter.

But as Jason began shaping what Eventure would become, he realized something important…The coastal lifestyle isn’t just about getting around - it’s about the water too. That realization opened the door to something bigger than bikes alone. So he reached out to his longtime friend, Matt Cassidy. Just like when he first discovered Pedego years earlier - it clicked immediately.

Matt, a long-time local, is the definition of a true waterman. From surf to paddle to anything that touches the Gulf, he brings a deep-rooted connection to the water and the lifestyle that surrounds it. And just like that, the vision expanded. What Jason brings to Eventure by turf… Matt brings by surf. Together, they built Eventure Florida to reflect the full coastal experience—on land and on water.

More Than a Ride - It’s an Eventure

What started as a solution to traffic has become something much more meaningful.

A way to slow down.
A way to reconnect.

Eventure Florida is built on experience, shaped by community, and driven by a simple idea - there’s a better way to explore this place we love. Whether you’re cruising down 30A or paddling out into the Gulf, it’s about more than the activity.

It’s about the feeling.

And around here, the best memories aren’t rushed… they’re experienced.
Experience Adventure. Eventure.
